Back on the blog today in my favorite flares, and if you haven’t jumped on the flare trend yet, you’re missing out, girl.  Worn super long with your highest heels, a sweet pair of flares can instantly lengthen your legs.  And perhaps hide that holiday gain a little, ya know?  I’m doing a one-day juice cleanse today (my first time), so if you see me around Newport today, avoid the angry hungry lady.  Just kidding.  (Sort of.)  Any tips, friends?  Like maybe take some Nyquil and go to bed?  That sounds like a good plan.  Happy Tuesday, y’all!

New Year’s Eve again.  Are we really here?  Has it really been a whole year already?  Nuts, I tell ya.  But I can’t complain because it’s been such a crazy and amazing year.  Looking back on 2015, I can’t even believe the places I’ve gotten to go, the brands I’ve been fortunate enough to work with, the people I’ve met, and the friends and family that I’ve been so lucky to have by my side.  This blog has been an incredible ride from day one, full of really big ups and disappointing downs, but after four and a half years (crazy!), I could still pinch myself daily.  This year I found my wedding dress (yay!), traveled with girlfriends, road-tripped with my love, and witnessed a group of gals “freeing the nipple” during New York Fashion Week.    I pushed myself but also learned that it’s important to take a little down time.  (That Instagram can wait, right?)  I’ve had a lot of fun, and my sincere hope is that you’ve had a bit of fun following along.  I mean, this whole fashion thing should be fun, shouldn’t it?  And I owe you, the readers, the biggest thanks for all the love.  All the comments, shares, likes, emails, and Tweets.  You guys are amazing.  And so far, 2016 is looking pretty sweet.  I’m kicking off the new year with the usual fashion, a bit of fitness, awards season, and, oh yeah, the biggest party of my life.  #PrendergastAtLast  So here’s to you guys, and cheers to an amazing new year!

Christmas Eve is finally here, and I’m one holly jolly, Christmas-loving elf today.  Every year Eric and I switch off where we spend Christmas and Thanksgiving: one holiday in California, and one in Louisiana.  This year, it’s a California Christmas with my soon-to-be West Coast family, and as an added bonus, my parents are here too.  I’m so excited to spend the next couple of days surrounded by so much family, fun, and food.  (God help me, this whole “shedding for the wedding” thing isn’t going very well.  Perhaps I’ll start over after the holidays…)  Today I’m sharing a few photos from a recent trip to Tanaka Farms, and if you’ve been following along on Instagram, you’ll probably notice that I’m obsessed with this James Jeans coat lately.  Obsessed.  It’s the perfect weight for the chilly days we’ve had lately, and I love the easy sleeves.  Plus, it leaves a little extra room for those inevitable Christmas cookies that I can never resist.  ‘Tis the season, right?!  Merry Christmas, y’all!

Recently I’ve gone a little stripe-crazy, and more specifically, striped t-shirt dress crazy.  I’ve picked up, like, three striped t-shirt dresses in the last couple of weeks, and this $11 version is hands-down my favorite.  (It’s admittedly a smidge short, so I wear little lace shorts underneath.)  It’s crazy versatile and can pretty much be worn a different way everyday of the week, so today I’m switching it around four ways to suit any mood.  From a cozy poncho to tomboy plaids to sleek over-the-knee boots, the pairings are endless.  The question is, how would you wear yours?  Happy Friday!

Happy Thursday, gang.  Is it just me, or is life just somehow better during the month of December?  The lights, the eggnog, the tunes, the all-around holly jolly, merry and bright feeling.  Maybe it’s just me.  But I don’t care.  Today I’m channeling my inner Red Riding Hood, and I couldn’t love this little cape more.  (It also comes in this green version that I may love just as much.)  It’s the perfect little throw on and go cape for dressing up a pair of skinnies.  Also, if there’s one thing you buy this winter, make it a great pair of over-the-knee boots.  Just trust, you’ll wear them ALL the time.
