So I’m pretty sure I haven’t been this excited for a Monday in quite a while, but I’m feeling festive and oh-so-ready for one of my favorite holidays in the best July 4th romper that I’ve ever found.  I mean, how cute is this firework print?  I will officially be wearing this romper for every 4th of July, Memorial Day, and any other patriotic holiday for years to come as long as my booty will fit into it.  Our July 4th tradition involves lots of bike riding, the Huntington Beach parade, an afternoon BBQ, and plenty of good ole’ American pride.  Today and everyday I couldn’t be prouder to celebrate this country that I love.  From the freedom that we enjoy to the beautiful places that America has to explore, there’s just no place I’d rather be.  Here’s hoping everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July!

This may be my first dress with bell sleeves, but it definitely won’t be my last.  Who knew that throwing on a pair of throw-back sleeves like these could make you want to dance around?  Or, like, wave to people you don’t even know.  “Heeeeyyy, girl.  Over here waving at you with my bell sleeves.”  I knew when I first saw this dress it would be a new fave because that embroidery is just so cute.  And just in time for the 4th of July, it’s on sale and still in stock in all sizes.  So add it to your cart and use your Prime account (Did you know that you can use your Amazon Prime account for Shopbop purchases?) to have this little pretty at your door in time for the fireworks.  Hope everyone has an amazing holiday weekend!

Happy Friday, friends!  While I’m pretty stoked that it’s Friday (hey weekend, heyyy), I’m currently sitting here daydreaming back to Tuesday of this week.  Huh?  I know.  Tuesday was totally one of those pinch-me days where I put the computer down and played hooky all day with Miriam, Kathleen, and Lydia at the Bungalows at the Pacific Edge Hotel.  While my plans included getting a little sun and possibly hitting the beach, we pretty much spent all day chit-chatting in the shade, eating ALL OF THE FOODS, sipping a little vino, and planning to steal Miriam’s adorable little mini me.  (She’s the tiny set of legs in the background of the first photo above.)  This of course means that the day was a total success and beyond relaxing, and since the Pacific Edge just won’t let me move in permanently (how rude), I’m already planning out my next excuse to spend the day there.  Hope everyone has an amazing weekend ahead!

Last week I ran into Target for one thing.  You already know how this story ends, but I’ll tell it to you anyway.  So I run in for cough syrup only, and I’m telling you, totally on its own my cart just started navigating me towards the clothing.  I have no idea how these things happen, it’s just science, people.  Yada, yada, a few thousand things in my cart later, I’m walking out with a big smile because I’d just found the perfect summer jumpsuit.  It’s super lightweight and breezy (I bought a size up so that it would be a little roomy in the heat), and I love the little keyhole detailing in front.  The styling possibilities are seriously endless with this one – heels, flat sandals, espadrilles, wedges…I tried ’em all, and they all work.  Annnnnd, it’s under thirty bucks.  I’d say that’s a super successful trip to Target, had I remembered the cough syrup.

Wednesday already?  Time flies when you have the flu.  Seriously.  Made it home from our wedding with a little parting gift called influenza.  But that’s fine.  It’s actually a nice little detox after New Orleans, so bring it on, flu.  Anywho, back ‘atcha today with one last pair of spring kicks from Payless, and as promised, they’re so good.  A great pair of neutral wedges will always get their fair share of wear in the spring, and these are super comfy to boot.  Paired with favorite white boyfriends, a striped tee, and an army jacket (from a few seasons ago, can’t get enough), you’ve got a pulled-together look that requires zero brain skills.  Because that’s just about as much as I can muster this week.  Hope everyone else is having a great (flu-free) week!

If there’s anything that you might consider an obsession of mine, it’s anything that looks, feels, or remotely resembles a caftan, and this one had me at hello.  I specifically bought it for our post-wedding brunch this past Saturday, and it was just what I wanted to throw on after being in a wedding dress the day before.  It’s loose and airy without being a full-on moo moo.  (Do people outside of the South say moo moo?  Not sure.)  Luckily I snapped a few pics in it before we left for New Orleans because I pretty much took no pictures during our entire wedding week.  I was focused on having fun with family and friends, and luckily our photographer was there to catch the best moments.  (Will of course be sharing those here later!)  So today I’m back to California and getting used to being back in the real world.  Can we just rewind the last week?

Y’all!  I’ve been a serious fan of GiGi New York handbags and accessories for, like, ever (seriously, years), so today I’m really excited to team up with the fab folks at GiGi to launch one of their brand new bags for spring: The Amelie.  Available in five awesome shades for spring, the Amelie is the newest versatile handbag from the line that can be carried with a longer strap as a crossbody or with the top handle as a satchel.  It’s that perfect in-between size so that you can easily go hands-free, but it still fits ALL my stuff perfectly.  The interior includes three separate compartments, including one zippered section, and everything stays tucked inside with a turn-lock closure.  Signature to GiGi, the pebble leather is so soft and yummy, and the bag can be easily personalized with your initials (which also makes for a great gift).  With a roadtrip up the California coast on my mind for this summer, I can’t wait to pack it up with the essentials, my camera, and a few snacks (obviously) and hit the road.

Best Spring Wedges

Remember my obsession with these wedges last summer?  I wore them, like, a thousand times with everything from dresses to shorts and pants because they were just SO comfortable.  Welp, just in time for spring, Sofft has a new pair that’s got me equally obsessed.  Their new Perla wedge has elastic straps that are more comfortable than a giant beanbag, and can you really say that about any of the wedges in your closet?  No you cannot.  They are available in gold or black, and although I’d like to get my hands on both, you know gold is my main squeeze.  I’m sure I’ll be wearing these 4,629 times in the upcoming months, starting with this weekend’s Palm Springs bachelorette weekend.  If a flat sandal is also on your spring shopping list, check out these classics that you can find here.  They’re also SUPER comfortable and go with, like, everything.  Wanna see more spring sandals?  Check out Sofft for the best picks that you can actually wear (and walk in) all day, and use code “SOFFT20” for 20% off your purchase.  Happy almost weekend, friends!

I think a couple of summers ago I romper’d myself out and had to take a little break.  It can be hard to find one that fits a long torso, and let’s be honest, shimmying out of one to go to the bathroom kinda sucks.  It certainly didn’t affect my love of jumpsuits (don’t be silly), but rompers just weren’t doing it for me for a while.  But then I found this one, and things are back on.  It’s long-sleeved and perfect for this little spring transition that we’re having, but it’s also super lightweight for the warmer months ahead.  The flowy sleeves combined with the lace-up detailing and pockets and I was sold.  (I mean, pockets.  Duh.)  Wear it with flat sandals, wedges, or something in between like these flatforms for day to night use.  And the best part?  It’s under 50 bucks.  Score.  And that whole bathroom thing?  Just, ya know, drink less water.  Or something like that.

Springtime Pleats

Is there anything better in the springtime than pretty pleats catching a little breeze?  Well, I can think of one thing, and that’s the very rare spring thunderstorm happening right now in Southern California.  This whole El Nino thing seems to finally be happening today, and I’m not complaining.  I know someone who will be working in her robe all day long.  But back to this dress.  It comes in a few different prints and colors, fits true to size, and will run you under $80.  It’s the perfect dress for those upcoming weddings, showers, and other girly obligations on the agenda.  All you need to add is a simple pair of sandals and a springtime breeze.  Hope everyone has a great start to their week!
