Admittedly, this season I’ve already gone a little wedge crazy. I mean, I wouldn’t say it’s a full-on problem YET, but I’d say that once we start to move into a new house in a couple of months, shoes are gonna really hit the fan. (Get it? Ha? Stupid.) But whatever, y’all, spring is wedge season and for me there’s just no saying no. Suede, leather, tassels, ties, bright colors…somebody bring me ALL the wedges! So today I’m rounding up a few favorites that I’ve found. Number 9 on the list is already in my closet (you can see them in action here), and they’re as comfy as can be. Plus, there are 5 pairs here that are under $40. What? Nah-uh. Yeah, girl. Get your shop on.
Remember my obsession with these wedges last summer? I wore them, like, a thousand times with everything from dresses to shorts and pants because they were just SO comfortable. Welp, just in time for spring, Sofft has a new pair that’s got me equally obsessed. Their new Perla wedge has elastic straps that are more comfortable than a giant beanbag, and can you really say that about any of the wedges in your closet? No you cannot. They are available in gold or black, and although I’d like to get my hands on both, you know gold is my main squeeze. I’m sure I’ll be wearing these 4,629 times in the upcoming months, starting with this weekend’s Palm Springs bachelorette weekend. If a flat sandal is also on your spring shopping list, check out these classics that you can find here. They’re also SUPER comfortable and go with, like, everything. Wanna see more spring sandals? Check out Sofft for the best picks that you can actually wear (and walk in) all day, and use code “SOFFT20” for 20% off your purchase. Happy almost weekend, friends!
Good morning, friends! Admittedly I’m a little extra chipper this Monday morning as I’m coming off of an amazing long weekend in Palm Springs (I haven’t laughed so hard in a while) and heading into a fun little gal’s getaway to San Diego. This morning I’m unpacking and packing again, but above I’m throwing it back to this sweet day in San Clemente.
Last week thanks to The Agency, the girls and I got to spend a day taking in the most amazing ocean views and making ourselves at home at 4130 Calle Isabella. Y’all, this house and its location are INSANE. I mean, a glass of champs while looking at this pool and the ocean in the background? Sign me up any day of the week. BTW, it’s for sale if any of my friends want to buy it and invite me over every day.
This swimsuit is a tried-and-true old favorite of mine that I currently own in about five colors. It’s a simple triangle top, but it comes in sizes up to DDD and in so many colors. It’s just a solid bikini choice for the busty gals, and you know I’m all about that. And the denim on denim coverup? Well I’m in a heavy denim phase these days, and these fringed shorts were a lucky $5 Zara sale find. No joke. And the chambray shirt from JoFit is SO good – if you’re looking for a little chambray, I can’t recommend this one more.
Welp, this suitcase isn’t gonna pack itself, but make sure you’re following along on Instagram for peeks at the next couple of days in San Diego. Hope everyone’s week is off to a great start!
Sooo, I warned you a couple of weeks ago that this little two-piece set might be showing up again in a different print, so here goes. But can you blame me? I never met a kimono I didn’t like for the summertime, and when you add tassels and some matching shorts? Stick a fork in me.
Trina Turk is an eternal favorite of mine (especially with our new Palm Springs stomping grounds, yay! Outfit look familiar?), which maybe doesn’t make much sense. I’m always one for solids, with a heavy emphasis on all black solids, and easy-on-the-eyes florals. I’m a simple kind of gal, but give me a wild and crazy Trina Turk print, and I’ve got all eyes on summer. The prints and colors are nothing but a good time, and the fabrics are just plain nice. Trina, you get me.
And what do you wear under? Grab your favorite bikini, the one-piece that sucks it all in, or, like I did over the weekend, knot this easy tank and call it a day. This set is seriously as light as a feather – I mean, it was my choice for Saturday’s 110 degree weather in Palm Springs – and I plan to live in it for the next few months.
But you know, maybe choose carefully around a 12-week-old puppy because all those tassels? Just too tempting. Hope everyone’s week is off to a great start!
Yip, yip, YIPPEE, friends! The weekend is here again, and today I’m finally getting around to sharing a few snaps from last weekend in Palm Springs. Last Friday Eric and I headed to the DoubleTree by Hilton Golf Resort in Palm Springs, and y’all, it was seriously an amazing couple of days. I so enjoy it anytime Eric and I can get away for a couple of days just the two of us, and Palm Springs is kind of our favorite. It’s a pretty quick, two-hour drive, but once you’re there, it’s like being a world away.
Eric and I got to check out the DoubleTree in Palm Springs last year when it was brand spankin’ new, and when we were invited back this year (we must have been on our best behavior), we couldn’t resist. While the pool area was a little more crowded with families than last year (and to be fair it was Mother’s Day weekend), you just can’t beat the grounds here. The entire hotel is situated on a golf course, so there are lakes (ponds?), palm trees and mountain views everywhere you look. It’s just NICE roaming around the property. Also, the outdoor tables used for breakfast in the morning make for the perfect deserted spot to relax with an afternoon cocktail. And by cocktail, I mean order yourself the dee-licious sangria in the last photo above. And probably go for the quesadilla (switch out the chicken for short rib) on the side. You won’t regret it – live yo’ best life, girl.
And the staff here, well they’re seriously the best. Everyone here is beyond friendly and helpful, and when the desert wind carried my room key off into the sunset one night, the beyond nice guy at the front desk offered me a warm chocolate chip cookie. You, sir, know the way to my heart. (And if you’ve ever had a DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie, then you feel me.) Also, our favorite bartender Frankie (loved him on both of our visits) can let you know all of the best places to eat, drink, and see in Palm Springs. Eric and I now have two very favorite restaurants in Palm Springs thanks to the recommendations of Frankie and other friends at the DoubleTree.
And now for a little about the outfit, obviously! A couple of weeks ago I got to check out the brand new Jofit store in Newport Beach and fell in love with all of the fabrics. I’ve got a full post coming your way with their killer leggings soon, but for now, this striped t-shirt dress is pretty much pack-able perfection. It’s super soft and doesn’t cling like some t-shirt dresses can. (AKA, you’ll have plenty of room for that sangria and quesadilla.)
So after my long-winded Palm Springs gush, here’s hoping everyone has an amazing weekend ahead. Plus, stay tuned next week for a few more snaps from the DoubleTree resort pool. Happy Friday, y’all!
So I’m pretty sure I haven’t been this excited for a Monday in quite a while, but I’m feeling festive and oh-so-ready for one of my favorite holidays in the best July 4th romper that I’ve ever found. I mean, how cute is this firework print? I will officially be wearing this romper for every 4th of July, Memorial Day, and any other patriotic holiday for years to come as long as my booty will fit into it. Our July 4th tradition involves lots of bike riding, the Huntington Beach parade, an afternoon BBQ, and plenty of good ole’ American pride. Today and everyday I couldn’t be prouder to celebrate this country that I love. From the freedom that we enjoy to the beautiful places that America has to explore, there’s just no place I’d rather be. Here’s hoping everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July!
Hey guys, happy Thursday! Today I’m teaming up with Banana Republic to bring you one of my favorite dresses I’ve worn so far this season. Right now I’m all about long-sleeved dresses as the “spring” weather around here can be a wee bit fickle. Add a drop waist for twirling and the cutest little stripe print, and I’m sold. (Also, how cute is the skirt version of this dress?! Swoon.) The best part? Banana is having a big ‘ole sale, and you’re invited. Enter code “BRSPRING” at checkout for 40% off your purchase. Time to stock up on pretty little things!
Disclosure: This post is in partnership with Banana Republic, but all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make My Style Diaries possible.
If there’s one trend that’s not going anywhere this spring, it’s everything off-the-shoulder, and for good reason. The adorable options are endless. And until recently, I looked around at all the shoulder-baring gals with envy because I HATE strapless bras. As in, can’t stand ’em, never found one that fit right. Until now. This one from Wacoal fits perfectly, stays put, and comes in A LOT of sizes. (Busty girls rejoice!) It’s nothing crazy or fancy, just a good, quality convertible bra that you can wear with everything. So here I am, joining the shoulder-baring girls, and life is good. Because how adorable is this little floral Wayf dress? Too cute to pass up. Hope everyone is having a great week!
Wow, guys. What a weekend. We spent Friday celebrating my future sister-in-law’s wedding, and it couldn’t have been a more beautiful night. We’re still recovering from the weekend over here. Rewinding a bit today and bringing it back to last month’s Cabo trip. This palm-printed dress is so lightweight and comfortable, perfect for a Mexican vacation, and looking at these photos I’m like, can we go back to this day? Hope everyone has a great start to their week!
Ahh, happy Friday, everyone! Fashion Week is in full swing in New York (hope you’re following along on Instagram!), but today I’m flashing back to this favorite look from Cabo. It’s just a simple t-shirt shift dress, but I feel like it’s so versatile as we transition into fall. In scorching Cabo it was perfect with my over-worn, favorite wedges and a hat for shade, but for the upcoming weeks I’d switch the wedges to these booties and add a fall-friendly hat. The dress is only left in a couple of sizes, so scoop yours up before it’s gone. Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!
