Good morning!  Today I’m bringing you guys a special Sunday post in collaboration with Hautelook’s totally shop-worthy (and perfect for me) Ladies Who Brunch sale that’s launching today (at 8:00 am PST).  The site is packed with brunch friendly picks from Orla Kiely, Badgley Mischka, and others, and I feel as though today’s sale was meant for me.  I mean, hello!  Brunch pretty much tops the list of my all-time favorite things to be doing.  Is that sad?  I’m not sure, but I don’t care.

For me brunch style is all about cute comfort, and this outfit fits the bill perfectly.  And because this little ivory dress wasn’t meant to sit at home, Eric and I headed out to (what else?) brunch with a couple of friends last weekend at Blue Water Grill here in Newport Beach.  My favorite brunch spots in Newport always involve being outside with bonus points for being on the water.  (Check, check.)  We had an amazing meal and enjoyed beautiful weather, and well, there’s pretty much no getting spoiled more than that.  If you’re looking to get your brunch on (and let’s be real, who isn’t?), then head over to Hautelook and pick out a little something for yourself – the sale ends Tuesday!

xoxo

Today I’m sharing another look from last weekend’s Laguna Beach staycation, and this dress had me feeling like a superhero of sorts.  (My superpowers for the weekend included sipping champagne and working on my tan, similar to the skill set I used this past weekend in Las Vegas.  But anywho…)  It’s basically the dress version of one of my favorite blazers, and I’ve now got my eye on the black version as well.  Paired with new favorite gladiators and a few tribal jewels, it’s such a no-brainer dress as we head into spring.  Hope everyone had an amazing weekend!  I, for one, am coming down from a Vegas trip with family, lots of laughs, and a nice little $1100 slot machine win.  Here’s hoping Monday isn’t too cruel.

It may not feel like it everywhere, but Spring really is just around the corner.  This coming weekend we’re setting the clocks forward, and this girl is excited.  Though we’ve got a bit to wait before it’s really warm out, this little Tolani dress is perfect for those summer days ahead.  It’s super lightweight, but the colors make a big impact.  Add booties or a pair of gladiator sandals (my continued obsession), and you’re set.  Little to no accessories required, but a killer fringe bag never hurt anyone.

Since moving down to Newport a couple of years ago, the week of the 4th of July has definitely become one of my favorite weeks of the year.  There’s a definite excitement in the air around here, and red, white, and blue touches can be seen pretty much everywhere.  Bikes are being prepared, BBQ’s are readied, and there’s a genuine happiness in people despite the lingering June Gloom weather.  We live in an area with a lot of weekly beach house rentals, so right about now is when all the families are arriving, ready for their 4th at the beach.  Although I haven’t quite picked out my look for the 4th yet, above are a few pieces I definitely would like to get my hands on.

These simple swimsuits by Becca are my hands-down favorite and have been for a couple of years because the triangle tops are cut just a bit bigger.  (If you’re like me and have somewhat hard-to-fit curves, I’d definitely recommend giving these a shot.)  These seersucker shorts are about the cutest things I’ve seen, and topped with an easy tank and a plaid tied around the waist, they’re an easy Americana staple.  Finish things off with fun accessories, gladiator sandals, and a chic beach bag that’ll hold everything.  Here’s wishing everyone an amazing “Fourth Week”!

In today’s final look with this Aqua printed sweatshirt (see the other looks here and here), I’m pairing it with my favorite faux leather shorts and the gladiator sandals that have become my summer go-to.  It’s such an easy summer look, and a bold handbag adds a needed pop of color.  Hope everyone had a great weekend and an amazing first day of summer!

Little White Dress

Nothing screams summer quite like a little white dress, and this one is definitely one of my new favorites.  I picked it up at Forever 21 during my one-day Vegas trip, and I’ve already put it to good use.  It was the perfect lightweight dress for Palm Springs, and I couldn’t resist throwing it on again this past weekend.  Gladiator sandals, a crossbody bag, and an eclectic mix of jewelry finished off the look.  Here’s hoping everyone’s June is off to a great start!

T-Shirt Dress

Picture

I’ve probably mentioned it 457 times on the blog so far, but I love a good t-shirt dress for summer.  Dressed up or down, there’s nothing easier or more comfortable in warm weather.  For a look that’s a bit pulled together, pair a basic little navy version with gladiator-style leopard sandals and a structured leather satchel.  Finish with touches of tortoise-shell, a tasseled necklace, and classic gold pieces.  How would you wear this simple t-shirt dress?

Summer Staples

Picture

Everything about this look just screams summer to me.  Coral crochet shorts are so easy when paired with a crisp white blouse and studded gladiator sandals.  Take the look up a level by adding an eye-catching dose of turquoise and an animal-print clutch.  Finish with oversized cat-eye shades and touches of gold.  Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!  Happy Friday!

For me, spring just wouldn’t be spring without a well-stocked supply of comfy, cozy, so soft you could sleep in them t-shirt dresses.  In luxe jersey fabrics, a good t-shirt dress so easily makes the transition from beach coverup to the perfect daytime mini and beyond.  While my favorites are definitely from Riller & Fount, I’m loving this simple pocketed version above paired with strappy gladiator sandals.  Add interest with a paradise-printed clutch, marbled sunnies and an ultra-soft scarf, and finish the look with classic silver jewels.

Dressed-Up Boyfriend Jeans

Picture

Lately I’m really drawn to the laidback look of boyfriend jeans, and I’ve been kicking myself for getting rid of a couple great pairs a few seasons back.  While I love the easy styling of pairing the relaxed denim with a basic tee and gladiator sandals, distressed boyfriend jeans are equally chic when dressed up with a striped blazer and eye-catching heels.  Finish with a bold handbag, mirrored aviators and a few simple pieces of jewelry.  How would you style boyfriend jeans for spring?
