So you want to spend your fall in the coziest way possible, decked out like a human teddy bear?  Well lucky for you, teddy bear coats and jackets are right on trend, friend.  I scooped this one up at Zara in NYC (why are the Zara stores in New York SO much better than the ones here?) and also just got this budget-friendly, under $35 version that’ll be hitting the blog soon.  You can bet you won’t find anything cozier, and I’ve rounded up some of my favorite finds below.

Also noteworthy, Marc Fisher’s Friends & Family sale kicks off today, and it’s one you don’t want to miss.  I’m ALL about their wedges and sandals in the summertime, and for fall, Marc Fisher booties are definitely some of my favorites.  The pair I’m wearing above is perfect for this season’s western boot trend without going too yippee ki-yay.  Plus, they’re crazy comfortable to me.  I’ll definitely be packing these babies for this weekend’s wine tasting adventure.

And now I’ve got my eye on a few new styles.  Whether you’re looking for booties, OTK boots, mules, or a pretty new heel, there’s a little something for everyone and I’m rounding up my favorites below.  Just enter code FF18 at checkout to take 20% off anything you please.  Happy shopping, friends.

Holy, shamoly, y’all – was yesterday hot around here or what?  Southern California was seriously scorching yesterday with a high of 104, and I think Weeze and I were both going a little bit nuts.  It probably wasn’t my warmest day ever (pretty sure that award goes to the afternoon and evening spent at Flora Farms in Mexico – straight up SCORCH), but it was definitely up there.

So in today’s edition of “the fall trends I’m loving but can’t even come close to wearing in real life right now,” I present to you this plaid jacket.  And not just any plaid.  If you’re looking for the “It print” or hot fabric this season, it’s definitely Glen plaid.  It’s seriously everywhere for fall – skirts, pants, dresses (also love this one), and mostly, jackets.

While Glen plaid blazers are currently winning in the popularity department, I opted for this little lightweight version because bombers are the bomb.  Haha!  See what I did there?!  This heat, guys.  Delusional.  Actually, a strange thing happened.  I was online searching for these plaid pumpkins for my dining room when this jacket just jumped right in my cart too.  Craziest thing.

And I’m so glad that it did.  It’s pretty light so that once this heatwave business takes a bit of a chill pill I can wear it with ALL the things – dresses, jeans, skirts, whatever.  It also comes in a super fun floral print and will set you back right around $40.  Not bad, right?  You can take that under $50 change and throw in one of the plaid pumpkins.  Or, you know, don’t.  Up to you.

What do you guys think of the Glen plaid trend?

If there’s one trend from 2016 that I fully embraced, it was the bomber jacketQuilted, sequined, Pink Lady style, or in dress form, I had a real love for anything bomber style, and lucky for me, the trend isn’t going anywhere just yet.  This little striped bomber is lightweight and perfect for transitioning to spring, and it comes in two more adorable prints (here and here).

But perhaps we’re a little early to be wearing spring, so for now I’m layering this little jacket with the cabi vest that I’ve worn a few thousand times.  cabi has been a favorite of mine season after season, and I can’t wait to see the brand new Spring 2017 collection revealed this week at cabiScoop.  This will be my second time attending the Scoop in San Diego, and it really is such a fun event.  It’s a giant fashion show event packed with cabi stylists from all around the country.  It has an amazing community feel of women supporting women and just genuine happiness.  If you can’t make it to the Scoop, make sure you tune in online to see the Spring collection as it comes down the runway, and follow along on my Instagram story where I’ll be sharing as well.  Hope everyone is having an amazing week so far!

If there’s a bomber jacket that’s meant for the holidays, it’s obviously a sequin bomber jacket.  And while I’m now convinced that every party-goer and sequin-loving gal needs one of these babies in her holiday arsenal (and pretty sure I need two or three of them), it’s probably not something you really wanna break the bank on.  After all there’s like, gifts and trees and wreaths and eggnog and all of the things to buy this time of year.  So today I’m sharing my favorite, favorite sequin bomber of the season (above) that’s right around $50 and six additional options to consider.  I mean, that little number four below – she’s on sale and oh so good.  Extra heart eyes for the oversized sleeves on that one.  (And on second thought, that’s it, I’m ordering.)  Wear these over a little black dress, with your favorite leather leggings, or with jeans and the WhoWhatWear for Target camisole that you accidentally just ordered in three additional colors.  (It really is a pretty great layering piece, y’all.)  Whatever you do, just have a little fun with it because ’tis the season and ho, ho, ho and pass me the pie.  Happy December, guys!

Oh!  And one last thing.  As a little thank you for all your support and love throughout the year, I’m teaming up with a few fellow bloggers to give one lucky reader a $500 Visa gift card, just in time for the holidays.  Follow the directions below to enter, and good luck!

If you had told me a few seasons ago that Fall 2016 would be all about the bomber jacket, I probably would have told you to take a hike.  I mean, in the nicest way possible.  But yet here we are so quickly approaching fall, and I’m like, dammit I kind of love them.  I mean, who knew?  What an oh-so-random jacket style to come waltzing in like it owns the place.  But somehow, it just works.  With dresses, jeans, leather shorts, you name it, the bomber jacket really just works.  And if you’re sold on the trend like I am, you’re in luck because they’re seriously everywhere in tons of fabrics and colors and all different price ranges.  While I’m down to splurge a little on the classics, I normally don’t spend much on the trends so today I’m sharing six different versions of the bomber that are all under $100.  My personal faves for the season?  Anything in army green, quilted fabrics, and an unexpected satin version.  The under $40 pink satin jacket above totally makes me feel like a member of the Pink Ladies, and I don’t hate it one bit.  But if joining the cast of Grease isn’t your current goal in life, take a little gander at my picks below.  Something’s bound to be screaming your name.

You know those Monday mornings when you just can’t seem to get it together?  Full warning, I’m in slow-mo this morning and I’m not sure a gallon of coffee could help.  About a week ago I shared my favorite bomber of the season (which is currently back in stock) with you guys, and today I’m sharing the trend in a slightly different form.  This one is like a perfect mix of a bomber jacket and a trench coat, and when you size up and zip up, it doubles as an easy pre-fall dress.  So I’m calling this one the bomber dress, and I have no idea (nor do I care) if it was intended to be worn this way.  What I do know is that I love a good versatile piece, and this one is beyond.  For now, throw it on with denim cutoffs, a simple tee and booties for a laidback transitional look, and once the temperatures drop, wear it with skinnies and over-the-knee boots.  For right around $40, you really can’t go wrong with this bomber dress hybrid thing.  (You like that technical terminology?  Blame it on the Monday morning thing.)  Also notable, this handbag is currently on sale, and it’s a pretty sweet find.  (Plus it holds ALL of the things.)  Also, these heels are one of the most worn things I own.  So there’s that, and that’s all.  Here’s hoping your Monday moves along pretty swiftly, friends!

Like it or not, fall fashion is steady coming atcha, and if there’s one thing you need this season, it’s a bomber jacket.  Seriously, they’re everywhere.  In suede, leather, satin, cotton, you name it.  And they’re pretty much the comfiest jacket trend, like, ever.  (Isn’t that nice – when a trend comes along that is actually super comfy and enjoyable to wear?)  So I searched and I searched and I’m telling you, this is the best bomber jacket that I’ve found so far.  It’s available in two colors but selling out so quickly.  (It’s already been restocked once.)  It’s thick and padded and oh so perfect for the cooler temps ahead.  Plus I just really love the green color.  So pair it with jeans, drape it over your shoulders with a dress, or just pull out those perfect leather shorts that you found at Forever 21 four years back that you can’t stop wearing.  I wish I knew how to quit you.  Anywho, it’s Friday at last and this gal is excited.  Happy dance in the middle of the street excited, or something like that.  Who has some fun plans, and even better, who’s gonna invite me?

Fuzzy Pink Bomber

Boyfriend jeans were made for casual Fridays, and today is just that.  After a super busy week, there’s nothing better than a broken-in pair of boyfriend jeans, a comfy tee, and an even comfier jacket.  I picked up this pink fuzzy bomber a few weeks ago at Zara, and it’s definitely become a favorite pre-spring piece.  It’s one of those throw-on-with-anything jackets that I’ll keep forever, and I’m pretty fond of pale pink in general these days.  This weekend is supposed to be really warm and nice, and I’m hoping to spend some time outside.  (I know, East-Coasters, you hate me.)  Here’s hoping your weekend brings nice weather and fun plans!

Bomber

Nothing beats the cold and plays up a fun sporty vibe quite like a bomber jacket, and I love this affordable sweater version from Aritzia, a favorite Canadian retailer (and definite must-stop shop in New York) that has finally joined the online realm.  Partnered with sleek skinnies and a loose tee (something Aritzia stocks so very well), this closet staple easily gives off that chic-without-even-trying feel.  Finish with studded booties, a carefree messenger, retro sunglasses and polished jewelry for a stylish and comfortable laidback look.
